Asian Business School Noida, celebrated it’s 3rd Annual Fest,”KESSHET 2015” – ‘Colours of Life’ on 28th March 2015. The colorful Fest was presided over by Mr Sandeep Marwah ,President AEG ,Director- Dr Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director Branding-Mr Saurabh Sharma.

A myriad of engaging activities like –Treasure Hunt, Ad Mad show, Dances, Nukkad Natak, Face painting, Management Quiz, Leadership Games, Vocabulary, Rangoli, and Fashion Show were organized throughout the day which made it a fun filled enticing event.

Gaiety and rapture ruled the day as Asian Business School played host to a number of colleges like ITS, BIT, Jaipuria, BSE Institute, Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, AAFT, ASMS Greater Noida,Amity University,GBU,Sharda University and several more.

Athleema 2015

DSC_0736This year Asian Business School held its 3rd Annual Sporst Meet- Athleema 2015 on the 29th and 30th of January at the Jasola Sports Complex. A colourful inaugural ceremony in the presence of eminent personalities including Mr Sandeep Marwah and Mr Akshay Marwah marked the beginning of a two day funfilled, competitive atmosphere, which held everyone in sway.

Mr. Sandeep Marwah, in association with other dignitaries, inaugurated Athleema 2015 on 29th January by lighting the torch followed by addressing all the participants. He appreciated an overwhelming response of today’s youth in sports. In his address, he acknowledged the prime importance of sports in our day to day life and academic structure as games not only keep us fit but also inspire and motivate an individual towards various aspects of life.

Athleema 2015 witnessed participation from various top colleges of Delhi –NCR namely, Delhi College of Engineering, Shardha University, Gautam Budha University, PG DAV College, Deshbandhu College, Lingaya’ University, Amity University and many more. The 2 day Annual Sports Meet witnessed a tough war for all the teams striving hard to win trophies in various sports like Cricket, Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Badminton, Kho-Kho, Chess, Carrom, Pool & Table Tennis.

The participants embarked upon the two days journey with passion and zeal towards winning gold medals andtrophies. To appreciate the spirit of participation and felicitate the winners in different sports of this prodigious event, very special guests graced the valedictory dais on the 31st of January at the college premises. Proud moments were shared by all the winners and participants that contributed their support in making Athleema 2015 yet another successful event.

Annual Convocation Ceremony 2015

DSC_0389ABS held its annual convocation ceremony 2015 on the 19th day of January 2015 at Sri Sathya Sai International  Centre, New Delhi.

Dr Om Manchanda CEO – Dr. Lal Pathlabs Pvt ltd,  presided over as the Chief  Guest and , Sh. Sharat Sharma director operations – Delhi metro rail corporation was the Guest of Honor for the occasion.

After the student procession was seated, the esteemed members in the academic procession were led to the Dias by Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava Director- Asian business School, followed by, Mr. Saurabh Sharma Director – Branding, Mr. Gurdeep Singh Raina Director – Admission, Mr Sandeep Marwah President – Asian Education Group, Dr. Om Manchanda and Sh. Sharat Sharma.The faculty followed the guests on the dias.

Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava Director- Asian business School, declared the convocation open. The PGDM diplomas were awarded to the students by the dignitaries invited. Ninety six students received the awards.

Shubham Kesharwani of PGDM 2011 and Awantika Tiwari of PGDM 2012 batch were announced the batch toppers and were awarded with gold medals. The industry guests and AEG president addressed the gathering, congratulating the graduates and motivating them to be effective, efficient, and responsible and attain the pinnacle of success.

It was indeed a momentous day for ABS !

Saturday Club Activity Valuing Salvage 2014

Asian Business School, Noida, organized a Management Lab Activity “VALUING SALVAGE” on Saturday, 29.11.14. The students of PGDM –I (Batch 2014-16) participated in the event which commenced from Tuesday, 25th November 2014. There were total 4 teams of students with 10-12 members each. The activity “Valuing Salvage’ was designed to promote recycle and reuse of scrap materials and to create best out of the waste material. The students had designed different products from the waste material showing their creativity and innovation. “Valuing Salvage” was the contribution from Asian Business School towards ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ which is a mass movement to create awareness of cleanliness and hygiene amongst people of India. The mission was launched by Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister Of India on 2nd October 2014.

The objective of the Environment Club “Prakriti” is to raise awareness and understanding the environmental issues, instill a sense of responsibility for the environment and personal commitment

  • to protect
  • to preserve environment
  • to educate
  • to cultivate an appreciation and interest in environment

The club is organizing diversity of programmes aimed at promoting environmental consciousness and protecting the environment. Members contribute by providing creative ideas on how to initiate and organize programmes in line with the club objectives.

The following 4 teams participated in the event “VALUING SALVAGE” on 29.11.14 –

  • Decorate India
  • Junk Busters
  • Creativity Fit Organization

The activity was divided into 4 phases. The first phase was the window display and pre-launch promotion of the products designed and created by the students which was undertaken on Thursday and Friday. This phase was judged on the parameters – creativity, innovativeness and display content. The second phase was the launch of the product which was judged on the presentation skills, unique product idea, creativity and quality of presentation. The third phase was the creation of jingles from the sounds of the waste products. The last phase was value generation at the stalls. Amongst the four teams that participated in the event, “Dumps New” was the winning team. This activity was designed to encourage the students to manage waste and utilize the same in the best possible manner.

Finance Club Activity 2014

Le jeu de banque

The Finance club of Asian Business School, Noida, is organizing “le jeu de banque” on 22-11-14. The activity has been planned to develop the Financial, Marketing and HR skill of the students. The students will be designing the financial products and services of a bank. Each team will be devising a marketing strategy to position itself in the market and maximizing the awareness of the product and services with the help of an advertising team. The students will also get an opportunity to conceptualize and shoot their own advertisement. There will be team of students function as a regulatory body to check the guidelines of RBI. To execute the complete concept the students will be working in different teams like the product, advertisement and regulatory team which will help the students to develop their interpersonal skills. We have four teams from the PGDM (2014-16) batch and two teams form PGDM (2013-15) batch.

Activity based learning is the key to imbibe the concepts in the long the long term memory

Le jeu de banque (a banking game)

Keeping the tradition of saturday club activities in ABS, the Finance club organized ‘Le jeu de Banque’ which in French means a banking game on 22nd Nov 2014. The event was a week long activity commencing from Monday, 17th Nov 2014. There were total 5 teams of students with 12 members each. Each team was supposed to form a bank and market their products in the campus. The objective of the activity was to enhance the different management skills in the students like their finance skills, marketing, team work , leadership, time and resource management , communication and presentation skills to name a few. The enthusiasm of the students were visible all around in the campus and they did a lot of research work and brainstorming for designing their products, formulating their marketing strategies and finally selling it to the faculties and other departments against virtual currencies. Colorful, creative and informative posters were put up by all the teams in the campus. The whole week of promotional and selling activity was followed by the final event on Saturday in theatre hall of the college. In this all the teams gave presentations on their bank’s products and strategies along with a video advertisement shot through their mobile phones. The competition was judged by Director Academics, ABS Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava and a senior faculty member Ms. Supriya Srivastava. The teams were judged on 3 criteria viz. the total sales of each team, their presentation and the advertisement video. All the presentations were excellent and the videos specially were a surprise for the judges as all the teams performed way beyond their expectations. All were excellent but as they say there has to be one winner only. PGDM I, Sec C team was the winner, closely followed by PGDM IV, Sec A team as the first runners up. The whole event was a very good learning experience for all the students and they enjoyed it thoroughly.

“Employability Enhancement Training and FMCG Orientation”

A workshop on “Employability Enhancement Training and FMCG Orientation” was organized at Asian Business School, conducted by The Catalyst, official recruiter of Colgate Palmolive in North India, on 13th and 14th of November 2014. The day long workshop spread over two days gave students a detailed insight on the topics like “Selection process in FMCG companies, competencies assessed, process followed”, “Introduction to sales career in FMCG, roles and responsibilities, typical day and month in the life of a TSI” and “Career growth in FMCG companies, expected salary and promotion, exit opportunities”.

Where the Day 1 of the workshop was dedicated to “Practice Aptitude Test”, “Practice GD sessions with FMCG related topics” and “Practice interview sessions with FMCG industry specific questions and ideal answers”, Day 2 was given to the “Orientation to the FMCG Industry”. The students were explained about the FMCG Industry, it’s Products, Distribution Network and the Retail Environment, along with the orientation to Sales Planning and Review and Infrastructure Management of the Industry.

ABS Students attended a live talk show of NDTV

On 12th November, students from ABS attended a live talk show of NDTV on “India has been swelling with pride since winning the race to mars”, which was entitled as “The team behind India’s historic Mars Mission”.

Mr. Ravish Kumar the anchor, congratulated the scientists from ISRO for their success of MANGALYAAN and appreciated all the team members for their immense contribution for the mission.

Our students were amazed to know that the cost of the mission was lesser than any Hollywood movie.

In addition to which they launched their latest book ” Reaching the stars” which entails all the detailed information about their journey and the challenges faced by the team.

These students were extremely inquisitive during the show and werementhusiastically involved.
A zealous interactive session wrapped up the show.

Saturday Club Activity

CONFLUENCE – HR, Marketing & Finance

Asian Business School, Noida, organized a Management Lab Activity “CONFLUENCE” on Saturday, 20.09.14. The students of PGDM –I (Batch 2014-16) participated in the event and made Presentations and “Nukkad Natak” covering various aspects of HR, Marketing & Finance disciplines.
Following were the topics of the Presentations:

HR

  • Organization’s success depends upon its team members
  • Co-ordination is the essence of Management
  • Communication can make or mar the image of an organization

Marketing

  • Role of social media in modern day marketing
  • Pros and cons of FDI in retail
  • Electronic Retailing – “ A new way of doing business”

Finance

  • Role of Banking in the economic growth of the country
  • Pros and cons of an investment by a common man in the stock market
  • Investment options for an individual in the present day scenario

There were 13 Groups who made Presentations and 3 “Nukkad Nataks” were played by the students. In all, 77 students participated in the event. The students depicted different themes of HR, Marketing and Finance with great zeal and enthusiasm.

The results of the event were announced by Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director, ABS, who emphasized the need for participation in such events by the students for their personality development and better learning.

Fresher’s 2014

Keeping the rich tradition of hosting a number of activities that take place in Asian Business School, the management Institute hosted a Fresher’s party for the newly inducted batch of 2014-16 on 5th September 2014. Since the day of the event coincided with another auspicious occasion of Teacher’s day, it was a double delight for the students, faculty and staff members.

As we know a lot of hard work goes in ensuring the success of any event, the Fresher’s party was no exception. The students from both old as well as new batch slogged their bit to make the event as successful as it turned out to be at the end. The venue of the event was Great India Celebrations, Noida which promised an apt ambience for an even like this.

The event started at around 3 o’clock in the afternoon and was well attended by all the students, faculty members, staff and people from the senior management. As we have a tradition in India, the event commenced with the remembrance of Lord Ganesha, a Ganesh Vandana presented by the students of Asian Business School. What followed was a sheer delight to the audience as many spell binding performances one after another were on the exhibit by the students. There were many dance and singing performances which were applauded by one and all. The audience was amazed to see the exuberance of the performing students.

The event was blessed with the motivating presence of Professor Sandeep Marwah, President, Asian Education Group who despite his busy schedule made it to the event venue and exhorted the students and staff. He extended his wishes on Teacher’s day. The students of senior batch made the day for all the faculty members by arranging a huge cake representing their love and respect for their teachers. The Institute also feted all the academic and non academic staff on this occasion by presenting mementos which were distributed by Sandeep Marwah Sir.

There was a mesmerizing performance by Sonu Thukral, a popular singer on this occasion who enthralled the audience by his energetic singing. The event came to the close with the coronation of new Mr. & Ms. Fresher after a couple of grueling rounds in which the students of new batch were to show case their talents and presence of mind. The results were declared by Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, the Director of Asian Business School. Deepender and Shelly were declared the worthy winners as Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher 2014 respectively.

In the end every one dispersed for the sumptuous dinner and left on a happy note.

National Marketing Workshop

The Corporate Resource Cell (CRC) at Asian Business School in association with GTM Builders & Promoters Ltd. is conducting a National Marketing Workshop of PGDM students from 15th – 17th August 2014.

The workshop focus towards developing the marketing skills and providing platform to the students for understanding the current real estate sector scenario, technical aspects, customer handling & sales procedures. This operational workout is an excellent platform wherein students would directly interact with the customers, understanding their requirements and offering them with the best suited product. This will not only help students in improving their interpersonal skills but also to boost their confidence.

As a part of training, an extensive session was taken by the GTM senior officials wherein Mr. Tushar Kumar, Chairman & MD; Mr. Vipul Gossain, Executive Director (Sales) and Ms. Ramon Lamba wherein students were given the detailed knowledge of GTM projects, schemes & customer benefits. They were also trained on marketing skills, preparing customer reports & customer handling. Prof. Sandeep Marwah, President, Asian Education Group & Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director, ABS were also present at this occasion. Prof. Marwah highly appreciated this effort and encouraged students to perform at their best & come up as best management professional. He mentioned such projects are an exceptional opportunity for them to understand the how-about and challenges of the market. This gives a clear picture to the candidate about the challenges and key focus areas. Dr. Srivastava further encouraged students to have a go getter attitude. He congratulated students for being selected for this project and motivated them to follow the 3 days training with discipline and dedication. He also mentioned that marketing is the backbone of any organization and a good marketing professional is responsible for the future of the product. He emphasized on acquiring the best marketing skills, learn the marketing strategies and best practices from GTM team during the training.

The onsite training is scheduled between 15th – 17th August 2014; ABS congratulates & wishes good luck to each one them.
